Frequently asked questions

FAQs about the aluminium dog tag with QR code and laser engraving

Answers about laser engraving, the digital dog ID, data security, location sharing and usage period.

What is the aluminium dog tag with QR code and laser engraving?

The bone-shaped dog tag is made from lightweight anodised aluminium and combines personalised laser engraving with an individual QR code.

After scanning, the digital dog ID opens directly in the browser. Shared contact details, dog and health information and important notes can then be displayed.

Which information is digital and which is engraved?

The digital dog ID can provide information including:

  • Contact persons and contact options
  • Name, profile picture and other dog information
  • Allergies, medication, vaccinations and health information
  • Important notes for finders, veterinarians and carers
  • Digital noticeboard for photos and text messages

Short details that should be directly visible, such as the dog’s name, telephone number or a note such as “Please call”, are suitable for laser engraving. We recommend no more than four short lines.

How secure is my information in the WebApp?

The information is stored on protected servers in Switzerland. You manage it through your personal DynaTag user account and decide which details are visible after a QR scan.

What happens when someone scans the QR code?

The personal dog ID opens directly in the smartphone browser. The finder needs neither an app nor a user account and can view the shared information and contact the stored contact persons.

A location is shared only when the finder actively uses this function and gives their explicit consent.

Can I change the digital information and laser engraving?

Contact details, dog and health information and other notes can be updated at any time through your DynaTag user account using a smartphone, tablet or computer.

The laser engraving is permanent and cannot be changed after production. Carefully check the engraving text before completing your order.

Are there any subscription fees or monthly charges?

No. The purchase includes use of the digital dog ID for five years with no subscription or monthly charges. After this period, the usage period can be extended for another one-time fee.

Can I track the location of my missing dog?

No. The SOS dog tag is not a GPS tracker and cannot actively or continuously locate the dog. It contains neither GPS nor a battery.

After a QR scan, the finder can voluntarily share the location of their own smartphone. This happens only with their explicit consent.
